How do I map my Godaddy domain to my Squarespace site?

Hi,

I would first like to thank you for taking the time to read my question.

l need some troubleshooting help. I recently purchased an account with Squarespace. Previously I had been hosting on Hostgator with my domain purchased through Google Aps. The domain is from Godaddy.

I would love for my account to map to my Squarespace i've been trying to do so following these instructions:

http://help.squarespace.com/customer/portal/articles/581579-domain-mapping-with-godaddy?t=103959

However, when I check to see if the link when through I get this error message, "This domain is not correctly pointing to Squarespace."!

I've followed the instructions to the letter. Now am I being impatient? Do I really have to wait 24 hours to see the error go away.

Does Squarespace use name servers, if not, where do I point my nameservers on Godaddy?

Do I park or forward my domain.

Thank you again,

I've fixed the issue. For anyone else looking for a similar answer be sure to park your domain to Godaddy. This should fix this issue.

I'm having the same issue. The only problem is that I'm still using Hostgator that host my emails (gmail) and I use the server sometimes for file storage and transfering...which I don't do as often.

I want to totally drop Hostgator but I don't want to lose my gmail emails hosted through them. Are you still able to use that and still reroute everything else straight to GoDaddy?

Hey,

If you registered your domain using Google Aps you should be fine. Just keep your CNAME Records the same but switch the "www" under host to "www.squarespace6.com" and you'll still have full access to Gmail.

Yes, I was able to reroute but still retain GMAIL. Hope this answers your question and helps!

Oooooh ok! For some reason I thought HostGator also had something to do with that gmail account. Guess not so much. Thanks!!

The squarespace help page http://help.squarespace.com/customer/portal/articles/581579 needs to be updated for the new godaddy interface.
